Red fruit in winter
Piper kadsura (Piperaceae) grows aerial roots out of the joints and spreads as vines over rock walls and other trees. They produce string-like flowers in early summer, and bear small grape-shaped bright-red fruit in winter. In coastal laurel forest, they sometimes grow to hang over large trees.
