Water Channel Next to Sodo-ji Temple(Sodo-ji Yoko-no Suiro)

草堂寺横の水路

Taking advantage of the special topography of the area to drain water

In a section of the Tonda-zaka Slope walk next to Sodo-ji Temple, the bedrock is exposed at land surface; utilizing this special topography, narrow water channels have been built on both sides of this ancient trail. These water channels are thought to have been used and constantly repaired since olden times.
