Tawara Wetland in Spring(Tawara-shitchi-no Haru)

田原湿地の春

When spring arrives, plants in the wetland begin to grow.

The Tawara Wetland in Kushimoto Town has been selected as one of the “500 Important Wetlands in Japan”; it is confirmed that just counting the species of higher plants, there are as many as 260 species in this wetland. When you see the willows surrounding the wetland start sprouting, it is a sign that spring has come. Your eyes will be drawn to the light green colors of these willows that stand out vividly behind the withered grass.
