Oga Lotus at Tanaka-jinja Shrine(Tanaka-jinja-no Oga Hasu)

田中神社のオオガハス

Lotus flower that gives you a sense of eternity

In a lotus field next to Tanaka-jinja Shrine, the oga lotus produces large pink flowers in June. A colony of the oga lotus in this field originates from one of the lotus roots that were divided for replanting and distributed nationwide after World War II, and it has been protected by the residents in this region. The Society for Protecting Oga Lotus now tend the lotus flowers in the field.
