Ipomoea pes-caprae (seaside morning glory) is a perennial belonging to the family Convolvulaceae, and grows in colonies on tropical beaches. In summer, it produces magenta flowers, which resemble those of the morning glory, and the flowers bloom all day. Of all the areas along the Kumano Kodo, this is the only place where this plant grows.
