Historic pageants at Suruda-toge Pass

Along Suruda-toge Pass stands the Kasu-jizo Buddha statue, constructed to repose the soul of a princess who lost her life here during Kumano pilgrimage. In November every year, the Kumano princess festival is held here, featuring historic pageants, dance dedication and stalls selling local products.
