Purple Flowers along the Kumano Kodo Route

Shikoku mamakona is an annual plant of 20-50 cm in height.  Its tubular flower is 2 cm in length and reddish purple in some sections. It grows in the western part of Honshu, Shikoku, and Kyushu. In the area along the Kumano Kodo Route, many Shikoku mamakona are found between Fushiogami-oji and the Sangen-chaya Teahouse Remains in Hongu-cho, Tanabe City.
