Vegetable artworks under the eaves

In the Nakiri area in Shinjo-cho, Tanabe City, Gion-san no Yomise (“Evening exhibition at Gion-san”) is held on the evening of July 13, as the festival-eve event of the annual festival of Oogata-jinja Shrine. Works made of vegetables, flowers and leaves are displayed under the eaves or at the gates of houses. Along the approx. 400-meter long street, you will see many artworks full of humor, featuring the year’s topics.
