Beautiful colors that light up fields and mountains in spring

Akebia quinata (chocolate vine) produces light purple flowers in fields and mountains in spring.  In areas along the Kumano Kodo, these plants can be found in many places from March to May, and when you reach the Tawara Wetland, they can be observed from the walking trail. There is also the three-leaf Akebia trifoliata that bears dark reddish-purple flowers.
