Teika-kazura (Asiatic jasmine) is a flower associated with Fujiwara-no-Teika, the poet who attended the Emperor Go-Toba when he traveled to Kumano. The flowers bloom everywhere along the Kumano Kodo, as if they remember Teika passing along the road.
