Vivid colors that spread across the coast
Lathyrus japonicus (sea pea) is a perennial that grows on the sea coast; it belongs to the Fabaceae family. Its flowers are larger and more vivid in color than those of Vicia sativa (common vetch), another member of the family Fabaceae that grows in the field, and it looks like a violet. From April to early July, the coast along the Ohechi route is beautifully decorated with the flowers of this plant.
