Vestige of boundary disputes
There is a boundary signpost pillar between Tanami and Arida along the Tobiyatani-michi Route, which is part of the Ohechi Route, one of the sites registered on the World Heritage list. The former Tanami Village and the former Arida Village are said to have once repeated their boundary disputes, and also to have had a dispute over offshore fishing grounds. The signpost pillar passes down the past incident to the present day.
