Near the Tanada (rice terrace) in front of the Takahara Kiri-no-Sato Rest Area, there is a waterwheel reproducing the old scenery of this area that once prospered as a post station along the Kumano Kodo. After a long spell of severely cold weather, the water becomes frozen and the waterwheel stops its motion.
